Following our first ever Sunday lineup announcement, we are delighted to announce that four additional talents will be performing at Farr Festival 2018. To mark the occasion, we've summarised each artist below and have highlighted some of the sounds and films to take note of.
Lifted from a recent interview on Pitchfork, "Octavian is shaping the sound of rap in 2018 - just ask Drake".
Based in East London, Octavian is building an empire between the capital’s fractured music scenes. His songs churn up R&B and dancehall with downbeat grime, peppy house, and UK hip-hop. Octavian describes himself as both a rapper and a singer and it’s arguably the way he shifts so effortlessly between the two registers that makes his sound so captivating.
Octavian’s beats, most of which he has a hand in producing himself, help to set him apart from the pack. Catchy and experimental, they eschew traditional song structures, deploying kooky, James Blake-esque synths and exploring unusual rhythmic territory.

In the space of only two years, DJ Seinfeld, has grown from the status of unheard talent onto that of an accomplished artist at the speed of light.
Passing through the initial stages of an up-and-coming producer’s career with a refreshing carefree attitude and propensity for fun whilst maintaining a staggering consistency in his output, as underlined by a handful of grade A platters for Lobster Theremin, Meda Fury and Natural Sciences.
DJ Seinfeld’s beats are ultimately guided by an idea of authenticity, true to the spirit of the early house pioneers and the unabashed rawness the confines of their equipment demanded. A lot’s been made of this lo-fi fuzz, with many clamouring to declare it a scene, but he won’t be put into a box. His path is his own. A microphone picks up the tension and release of a singer: charged with emotion, the machine can’t handle it. The rough edges of his productions emit the same sensibility.

DJ Seinfeld - Time Spent In NYC
Hey everyone! So before my show in New York last November, the good people who made it happen (Charlie and Trevor) also wanted to film a short video, with Baltra showing me around town. It was just after my album was released, there was a lot going on, and it just kind of evolved into something slightly longer than originally planned. I’m terribly camera shy and that so it was a bit daunting (apologizing in advance for the nervous laughter and talk) but at the end it was a truly nice experience. I also want to give a huge thanks Goonroom & HOMAGE and their crews there who brought me out there in the first place. hope u will like this little throwback! With love ❤️ Armand ------- 🎶 Album: http://smarturl.it/TimeSpentAwayFromU 📽 Director: Tre the Wolf / Trevor Banks 🖥 Producers: Charlie Bird, Trevor Banks 🎛 Editor: Trevor Banks 🔊 Audio Mastering: Gabriel Cyr 📺 Executive Producer: Omid Fatemi Thanks to; Landmark Coffee Shop , Boiler Room, 2 Bridges Music Arts, Jackson Epstein (Tattoo Artist), Lobster Theremin, Meda FuryPosted by DJ Seinfeld on Tuesday, 27 February 2018
Mafalda is one of those DJs you stumble across and instantly fall in love with.
Originally from Portugal, Mafalda grew up listening to music and started to learn English from her father aged 5 so that she could translate Pet Shop Boys lyrics. She moved to London two years ago and immersed herself in London’s music scene – first inspired by seeing Sadar Bahar and Floating Points play together at Corsica Studios, she became a regular at the latter’s Plastic People party and early 'You’re a Melody' parties.
Mafalda now runs Melodies International with Sam Shepherd (aka Floating Points), which is rapidly becoming one of the most highly regarded reissue labels out there. She’s also organising the 'You’re A Melody' parties – from humble beginnings at Plastic People the most recent in the series took place at St John-At-Hackney in East London.
Aside from digging, licensing and re-releasing some of the best lost records from the last century, Mafalda frequently appears on the radio including Gilles Peterson’s Worldwide FM.

Since his spirited, remarkable debut in 2015, O’Flynn has been going from strength to strength.
After early releases on Blip Discs garnered support from influential selectors across the board (Four Tet, Gilles Peterson, James Blake, Bonobo.. need we say more?) the young producer was deservedly signed to electronic powerhouse Ninja Tune in 2017, making his label debut with the acid-tinged anthem ‘Pluto’s Beating Heart‘ in September.
O’Flynn’s sound hasn’t stopped progressing since his first release, ‘Tyrion / Desmond’s Empire’, an infectious club-ready mover fashioned from world-music samples. Moving confidently from smooth, jazz-inflected vibes to ecstatic funk and most recently, into acid house territory, this ingenious producer seeks inspiration wherever he can find it, without regards to genre or convention.
Whatever he’s working with, the common thread uniting his productions is an exceptional ability to combine his eclectic inspirations with an unbridled imagination, crafting propulsive, euphoric music that makes you want to move.
