Into The Woods with Hollie

With just two weeks to go until Hollie plays her debut set at Farr Festival 2018, we shine a light on the rising London-based selector who serves up an electro fuelled turntable assault encompassing records new and old.

Hollie's style is predominately techno focused, being percussive and forward thinking, with a lot of influence coming from the UK scene. She finds inspiration through the likes of Ben UFO, Nina Kraviz, Objekt & Call Super. Hollie is also founder of London-based event and artist collective atone.

Back in 2016 Hollie won the House the House national DJ Competition. Since then she has played at numerous venues in and around London such as The Nest, The Yard and The Waiting Room, to name a few.  Hollie is also resident DJ for the Well Street Records Label Parties. As well as DJing, she is also currently working on her own productions, and expects to release some of these in the near future.

Hollie Setup

For this podcast I wanted to take the listener on a spacey electro fuelled trip, delving into some of the new & older records in my collection which I feel would be perfect for a late night woodland setting.

At the start of the mix I included one of my favourite records from Silicon Scally, released back in 2002 on Firewire. This record I feel really sets the mood & tone of the mix, allowing me to the build on it from there.

I also included some tracks from some newer electro artists really dominating the scene at the moment. One of which is from Jensen Interceptor and I’ve been playing this track out a lot over the past few months.

For the end of the mix I wanted to slow things down a notch, with a calm euphoric closing track from one of my favourite producers of the last few years, Skee Mask - also on the Farr line up! I really hope you enjoy the podcast & thank you for the invitation.
