Into The Woods with Telfort

Edinburgh-based producer Telfort crafts together a choice selection of deep house using a rotary mixer for the next edition of our Into The Woods mix series curated by Inverted Audio. 

Since arriving onto the scene in 2015 with his self-released ‘In A Good Place’ EP on his own imprint TLFT, Sam swiftly followed up with the eagerly anticipated ‘Lickety Split’ and 'Soon I Will Embark On A Journey' featuring a stunning remix of 'Until Now' from Smallville Records co-founder Julius Steinhoff. 

Telfort has since gained adulation and support for his releases across the globe and from the likes of Move D, Axel Boman, Smallpeople, Moxie, Tim Sweeney, Krysko, Seb Wildblood, Jane Fitz, RüF Dug, Jacques Renault and many more.

To offer further insight into his mix, track selection and overall atmosphere, Sam wrote a few words that you can read down below.

"This was recorded at home using two Technic 1210s, XDJ700s and a Can Electric Taula4 mixer, quite loudly on a Saturday afternoon, which is something I seem to be able to get away with! Maybe my neighbours like deep house? It is an hour of that really, or my idea of it anyway... old and new. 

The only differences in approach in recording a podcast like this, to playing out, is that I know most of what’s going in ahead of recording it given there’s no crowd to read (I’ve found passers-by in the street to be useless), as well as being shorter than I’d want to play out, but if it can hold people’s attention span online for an hour or have repeat listens then great! 

I enjoyed recording this more than I normally do with podcasts and got pretty in the zone about a third of the way through. But yeah, this goes deeeeep (into the woods…)."
